Privacy Policy

Mosaic Anchor LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Mosaic mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information: first name, last name, email address, role, gender
- Phone number (optional; US numbers)
- Content: audio and video recordings you create within the App
- Legacy Contact designation: if you choose to name a Legacy Contact, we collect the name and email address you provide for that person, and we send them an email with a private access code. See Terms of Service Section 17 for how Legacy Delivery works.
- Feedback you submit through the App
Information collected automatically:
- Device type and operating system
- App usage data (recordings created, prompts viewed)
- Error logs and crash reports
- Device push token: if you enable push notifications, a device token is created so notifications can be delivered to your device
- Website analytics (mosayit.com): our public website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-first measurement tool that collects only aggregate statistics (page views, referring site, country, browser type). It sets no cookies, stores no personal identifiers, and does not track you across other websites.
- Diagnostic session data: if the App encounters an error, a short visual reproduction of the screens leading up to the error may be captured to help us fix the problem. All text, images, recordings, and personal content are automatically redacted (masked) on your device before anything is sent — the content of your memories, recordings, and photos is never visible in this diagnostic data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate personalized memory prompts using AI (see Section 3)
- Store and retrieve your recordings within your family group
- Send notification digest emails and push notifications (if you enable them)
- Moderate content for safety using automated tools
- Improve the App and fix bugs
- Respond to support requests
3. AI-Generated Content
The App uses AI services to generate and personalize content and features within the App.
What is shared with AI services: We may send limited, non-recording data (such as usage context) to third-party AI services to power these features. Your audio and video recordings are never sent to any AI service.
We do not train AI models on your recordings. Your recorded memories are stored privately and are never used to train any AI system.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers to operate the App:

We do not share your audio or video recordings with any third party except as required by law.
5. Data Retention and Archiving
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or until you choose to delete it.
- Recordings are kept as long as your account is active or until you delete them individually.
- Long-term archiving: After several years of inactivity, we may offer families the option to export their memories as a "Legacy Archive" (downloadable package) before older recordings are moved to lower-cost storage. Families are notified and must approve this transition.
- Account deletion: When you delete your account, all recordings, personal data, and family associations are permanently deleted within 14 days (see Section 7).
- Vault and legacy delivery: Certain content (such as Vault messages) can be configured by the account holder for delivery to a named recipient at a future date, event, or upon the account holder's passing. Where delivery is conditioned on the account holder's passing, we require reasonable verification (such as a death certificate) and review by our team before that content is released. See Terms of Service Section 17 for more detail on how we handle digital assets after your passing.
6. Content Moderation
The App uses automated safety tools to detect and flag harmful content. Flagged content may be reviewed by our team. We do not routinely review recordings for any other purpose.
7. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Profile Settings → Delete Account.
When you request deletion:
- Your account is immediately deactivated and you are logged out
- All your data (recordings, profile, prompts) is permanently deleted within 14 days
- This action is irreversible after the 14-day period
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Mosaic is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover a user is under 13, we will delete their account and all associated data immediately.
Users between 13 and 17 may use the App as part of a family group. We encourage parents and guardians to supervise their minor children's use of the App and to contact us at info@mosaic-anchor.com with any concerns.
Certain features — including Child Capsule and Vault — allow an adult account holder to record and store audio, video, photos, and other content about a minor family member, including a child under 13, as part of documenting family memories. This information is provided by the adult account holder, not collected directly from the minor, and the minor does not operate the App or submit information on their own behalf through these features. Mosaic is a general-audience family app; it is not directed to children and is not marketed to children under 13.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data (via Profile Settings)
- Delete your account and all associated data (via Profile Settings → Delete Account)
- Opt out of notification emails (via Profile Settings → Notifications)

10. Data Security
We use industry-standard security controls, encrypted cloud storage, and HTTPS to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
